Number of years on the governing body…….I have been a governor at Tanfield Lea Infant then the amalgamated Tanfield Lea Community Primary School for twenty five years.
Reasons why I became a governor…….. My daughter had just started to attend the infant School, my interest in her education and the development of the school became an important issue.
My school interests…… My main interest and main focus has been to assist development of the school, ensuring it can provide the best learning and teaching facility for the local community; when changes have to be made I feel it is my responsibility to question the decisions but then support whatever decision is made by the governing body.
A final word… As a governor I consider my responsibility is to ensure that the school provides the best learning and teaching facility (within the budget restraints) for the local community; decisions should always be questioned to ensure the school is always providing and maximising its resource to best effect.
