SEND

Tanfield Lea Community School values the contribution that every child can make and welcomes the diversity of culture, religion and preferred ways of learning. We are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum to ensure the best possible progress for all of our children, whatever their needs and abilities.

The school endeavors to raise achievement, remove barriers to learning and increase physical and curricular access to all, through appropriate differentiation, giving the correct support and making reasonable adjustments to our provision.  We develop the knowledge, understanding and skills of our children with SEND and encourage them to apply what they know with increasing fluency and independence.  

All children with SEND and vulnerable groups are valued, respected and equal members of the school. 
 
As such, provision for children with SEND is a matter for the school as a whole. 
“All teachers are teachers of children with SEND”.
